Rally in Defense of Reproductive Rights

Saturday, April 29th 2:00 PM
140 Adams Ave. at the Shelby County Courhouse

It is necessary that we all stand together to show that the women of Memphis demand:
To keep women's right to abortion legal, safe, afforadable, and accessible
To keep birth control legal and available
To make over the counter contraception (the morning after pill) legal and available
To make sure women never again have to turn to deadly, back alley and butcher abortions

We rally at a time when the Supreme Court of the U.S. has been stacked with right-wing ideologues poised to, at the least, gut Roe v. Wade--the court case legalizing abortion in 1973--and at the worst overturn it, making abortion illegal. We rally at a time when our state of Tennessee is considering anti-choice legislation. Today, over 200,000 women die every year and thousands more are left maimed because abortion is illegal in the countries in which they live. Nevertheless, they risk their lives in an effort to control their own bodies.

New leaflet, new email address, new event!

We are hosting a weekend of pro-choice events to commemorate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade!

FRIDAY 21 JAN: We're screening a documentary on the history of the pro-choice movement at the Media Co-op, 1000 S. Cooper, Memphis TN 38104 at 7:00 PM.
SATURDAY 22 JAN: We're doing clinic escorting in the morning and a demo outside the fake abortion clinic in the afternoon.
SUNDAY 23 JAN: We're having a potluck/WAC meeting.
